Buruciye Youth and Education Association, established in 2020, was founded with the vision of providing informal learning opportunities in the fields of youth, environment, and culture, particularly focusing on the education of individuals with special needs. The association aims to offer these opportunities to people from all layers of society together with young people. Immediately after its establishment, the association signed cooperation protocols with various NGOs, Sivas Governorship, and the Provincial Directorate of Culture and Tourism. Despite the pandemic, the association successfully carried out several activities, many of which were online. As a first-time applicant for an Erasmus project, the association has the necessary human resources, institutional competence, and most importantly, the desire, commitment, and motivation to carry out projects under this program.
Our association is dedicated to investing in the education of young people and educators, and positioning them at the highest levels cognitively and affectively. We aim to foster the emergence of new ideas, creativity, and artistic expression within the context of values education and national-spiritual values. Guided by our national and spiritual values, we are committed to representing universal values beyond our own borders and encouraging interculturality, which is a fundamental value of our work. Furthermore, with our diverse range of activities, we aim to enrich the minds and ideas of our nation’s youth in various fields.
Our Objectives:
Educational Activities: We plan to organize school-based and extracurricular educational projects, active citizenship, European citizenship, human rights education based on values education, media literacy, child development training for teachers and adults, education in disadvantaged groups, arts and design, career guidance, creative drama training, and education for the gifted.
Cultural Activities: We aim to conduct conferences, seminars, panels, and workshops.
Intercultural Activities: We focus on youth mobility programs and projects, education on international issues, promoting different cultures both domestically and abroad, and promoting Erasmus and ESC programs.
Local/Regional Promotion: We aim to collaborate with entities that contribute to nature conservation, promote local professions, arts and crafts, and endemic plant and animal species, support rural development models, and enhance local production to add value to the local economy. We also seek to promote the typical features of our region and raise awareness about local entrepreneurship.
Our main goal is to provide widespread educational opportunities for as many young people and educators as possible, including those who have never participated before. Our primary objective is to assist young people in developing their transversal competencies (life skills) using informal learning tools while staying connected to our national and spiritual values. We aim to foster social conscience by providing opportunities for young people to interact with others from different cultures, countries, and social conditions in an intercultural environment, promoting peaceful coexistence.
Additionally, we focus on:
- Enhancing youth employment and entrepreneurship,
- Including disadvantaged groups in local education and activities,
- Developing media literacy and IT skills among youth and adults,
- Raising awareness among young people about significant global issues,
- Facilitating the integration of socially disadvantaged and physically disabled individuals into society,
- Promoting human rights, gender equality, and intercultural communication,
- Providing challenging intercultural learning experiences for youth,
- Supporting social and personal development through international volunteer programs,
- Promoting intercultural understanding, equal opportunities, tolerance, and peace among people worldwide,
- Encouraging vocational education and training for students and youth.
