Youth Exchanges
Overview
Youth exchanges allow groups of young people from different countries to come together, live together, and work on joint projects for short periods. Youth exchanges occur outside of the school environment. In a youth exchange, you can expect to participate in activities such as workshops, exercises, debates, role plays, outdoor activities, and more. Participants’ learning experiences are recognized through a Youthpass.
Duration
Youth exchanges last between 5 and 21 days. Travel time is not included.
Conditions
Youth exchanges are open to individuals aged 13 to 30. To be a group leader in a youth exchange, you must be at least 18 years old. Youth exchanges are managed by youth organizations, informal youth groups, or other organizations.
Financial Support
EU grants support not only the travel necessary for the exchange but also practical and activity-related costs.
How to Apply
You cannot apply for a youth exchange grant individually. Applications must be made by an organization or a group of young people that selects who will participate in the exchange.
